Photo Gallery | Fire damages 2-story Waipahu residence

A male teenager was transported to the hospital for minor burn injuries following a fire at a Waipahu home Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the fire was reported just before 8:15 a.m. at a two-story single family residence on Kahuaina Street.

Honolulu Fire Department crews had the blaze under control at 8:23 a.m. and extinguished just before 8:30 a.m.

Fire officials say the house is divided into four units, housing six adults and two children.

Investigators believe the flames started in the bedroom living area.

Damages are estimated at about $70,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
